But before you order, there's one important choice to make: the backing. We offer two options: a PVC-only backing that you can sew or glue on, and a Velcro hook and loop backing. Here's how to decide.
Option 1: PVC-only backing (sew or glue)
A PVC-only patch has a smooth, flat back with nothing extra attached. You decide how to apply it: stitch it on, or attach it with a strong adhesive suitable for PVC and your fabric.

- Permanent look: perfect when your patch is meant to stay put, like on a uniform, jacket or work bag.
- Clean, low profile: with no extra backing layer, the patch sits close to the surface.
- Flexible application: sew it for maximum durability or glue it for a quick, no-sew finish on items like hats and hard-to-stitch areas.
Things to keep in mind
Sewing through PVC works best with a sturdy needle, strong thread and a steady hand, or ask your local tailor. If you glue, choose an adhesive designed for PVC or vinyl and follow its curing instructions. Once attached, the patch isn't easy to move.
Option 2: Velcro hook and loop backing
A Velcro-backed patch has the hook side attached to the back, so it grips onto loop fabric panels. These panels are common on tactical backpacks, caps, jackets, vests and gear bags.

Things to keep in mind
Your item needs a loop-fabric area for the patch to stick to. If it doesn't have one, a loop panel can be sewn or glued on first. Hook and loop backings also add a little thickness compared with PVC-only patches.
